What began as a company that manufactured sidecars for motorcycles, Jaguar eventually became one of the premier car manufacturers in the world. William Lyons and William Walmsley started the originally named Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922 but parted ways in 1934 as Lyons continued the business. The company has undergone several changes in ownership with the current parent company being Tata Motors based in India. The business expanded into the men’s fragrance market in 1988 and women’s market in 1993.
