  1. MOISTURIZE YOUR SCALP WITH HAIR OIL

Do you know what causes dandruff? The lack of moisture in air can dry up your scalp and cause itchiness. Massaging your scalp with oil, moisturizes it and stimulates hair growth.

Tip# Coconut oil gets deep into your hair follicles and also has a good smell. 

  1. AVOID WASHING WITH HOT WATER

Frequent washing of your scalp with water especially hot water, absorbs natural oils from it. The scalp is then left dry and itchy. Hair breakage is also a result of this.

Tip# After washing your hair with hot water, finish your shower with mild water for 4-5 seconds at the end. This prevents dandruff.

  1. LIMIT THE USE OF HEAT STYLING TOOLS

Use of blow dryer after a shower is very common in winters. But do you know, you’ve been doing this wrong all your life? Heat styling tools weaken your hair and increases hair breakage. It also draws moisture out of your hair. 

Tip# Take a shower at day time, so your hair can dry naturally in the daylight.

  1. WEAR A HAT OR A SILK SCARF

Another rule that you can live by during winters, is wearing a hat or a silk scarf (specifically) whenever you step out. Woolen and cotton head covers stimulates split ends and hair breakage. So always wear a hat, while going out with your friends or family.

  1. GET FREQUENT TRIMS

Getting your hair trimmed after every 2 months can save your hair from losing their freshness. Cutting your hair half an inch off the bottom, helps get rid of swollen and split ends and promote healthy growth.
